REJUVENATION AND STEM CELL THERAPIES

July 20, 2018

WHAT ABOUT STEM CELLS?

• Just injecting stem cells is not a complete procedure.
• There are several ways to obtain stem cells.
• Proper chemical and hormone balance can get things on the right track for healing. When balance is not optimal, it is not worth¬while to go into the doctor’s office, receive a shoulder injection, and expect miracles.
• Patients do not come to my office and just get an injection. They get balanced for improved results. This is a process.
• The location of the injection, the solution to be injected, and what additional agents that can be included with the stem cells during the procedure and recovery also play a major part.
• Good judgment comes from experience.

In 1981, after finishing medical school, an internship at Charity Hospital in New Or-leans, and five years of surgical training, Dr. B began to practice cardiovascular sur-gery in Emporia, Kansas. About halfway through his surgical career, frustration grew with the incomplete and narrow vision of conventional medicine– patients sent for sur-gery and they are on twenty different medica¬tions. Other patients talked about alternative treatments not recognized by typical medicine that resulted in reasonable success.

At that point a doctorate in natural medicine was obtained. Using this as well as a broad back¬ground in conventional medicine and surgery has given Dr. B widespread experience in many areas. And no, patients do not call him Dr Dr.

Then in 2009, after 29 years in private practice, a move was made to New York City to start an age management practice.

Body parts wear out with aging. Musculo¬skeletal rejuvenation is part of the ballgame. Nine years experience with stem cell treatments started with retired NFL and NBA players, military special forc¬es members, and many people injured trying to pursue a strong athletic program. Joint and soft tissue conditions are frequently treated with very good results.

So I’m sitting there in front of a 320 pound former all NFL defensive player thinking about where to position my stool before administering the injection to avoid that involuntary knee reflex.

Although starting with joint and soft tissue injections, Dr. B has had experience dealing with several other conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, emphysema, liver failure, some systemic illnesses, and even limited cosmetic procedures. There is a wide variety of conditions that can be effectively treated with stem cells and Dr. B has a background that provides significant experience.

When dealing with patients the first part of the Hippocratic oath is essential: First do no harm. There is essentially no risk with stem cell therapies and procedures are minimally invasive.

As far as an overall stem cell therapy approach, it is very im¬portant that the patient be in the best medical health. Chemical and hormone balance allows a good healing environment. There may be some preparation prior to the treatment.

Biophysics has provided adjunctive measures that can encour¬age growth and activity of stem cells. An example is the low-level pulsed laser. This can be used locally or systemically to improve healing. Other things such as special medications can be given prior, during, and even after the procedure to improve treatment results.
